Let’s Celebrate Spring with Guest Chef Nathan Brand
We hope you’ll join us in the upstairs teaching kitchen as we celebrate the arrival of spring with a fresh, seasonal cooking class that highlights the ingredients we wait all year for!
During this class, we’ll explore the ingredients found in the local markets with Chef Nathan Brand! Tender herbs, young greens, late season citrus, fresh cheeses, and vibrant pantry staples that make spring cooking feel effortless and alive. Nathan will inspire you with his hyper seasonal menu and effortless cooking skills on how to build light, elegant dishes that let beautiful ingredients shine, with simple techniques you can use all season long.
Together, you’ll prepare a series of bright, no-fuss dishes — think herb-loaded salads, citrusy vinaigrettes, spring toasts, and delicate snack plates that feel both nourishing and celebratory. This class is less about heavy cooking and more about awakening your palate after winter! After we spend a couple of hours in the kitchen, we’ll enjoy a seated lunch of what we’ve prepared.
Abby will be on-hand pouring and talking about some of our most loved spring wines, of course!
A little bit about Nathan:
Nathan is a really neat, super talented and highly experienced chef and restaurateur who has called Johnson City, TN home since 2016. His culinary background was shaped in some exceptional kitchens, including The Willows Inn on Lummi Island, Luksus/Tørst in Brooklyn, Amass in Copenhagen, The Roosevelt and Dutch & Co. in Richmond, VA; and Five & Ten and The National in Athens, GA. He founded and recently sold Timber! in Johnson City, to focus on teaching cooking and crafting unique hospitality experiences across the Southeast.
We apologize, but we cannot accommodate gluten allergies or dairy intolerances for this class.
This is a wine-included cooking class. We apologize but due to our permit, no outside alcohol is allowed on La Poste’s property.
Please be aware of La Poste’s cancellation policy before signing up.
La Poste’s kitchen is located on the second floor of a historic building. Taking a small flight of stairs to the second story is required to access the kitchen. I apologize that this may not be ideal for everyone. Please let me know if you’re unable to attend for this reason and I will do my best to help you find a time to attend class at the Barn.
