La Poste Cookbook Club #2: a cooking class + lunch with Kristin

This month’s book: Nothing Fancy, by Alison Roman

Welcome to one of many La Poste Cookbook Club cooking classes! This month, we are cooking with one of my all-time favorite authors and chefs, Alison Roman. I cannot think of another author that epitomizes my go-to style of simple, fresh and fun cooking like Alison.

She worked at Bon Appetite magazine (back when it was good) and also wrote the food column for the New York Times. She has a style of cooking and entertaining that is enviable and that she teaches in an effortless style in all of her cookbooks. Nothing Fancy offers us the best of these lessons in recipes that will make you confident when having guests over for a festive dinner party or simply while putting dinner on the table for a quiet Monday night. I can’t wait to help guide you through this book so we can all be a more cool version of ourselves, just like Alison!

During this monthly cooking class series, we will deep dive into different cookbooks that we carry ; much like a book club, class + festive lunch all rolled into one! We will spend each day in the kitchen chatting about the cookbook and why we love it, learning some of our favorite recipes + strategies from the book, and finally sitting down to a delicious lunch of what we’re prepared together.

Abby will be on-hand guiding us through several super natural wines that pair perfectly with each dish.

Your class ticket includes a 25% discount off of each book.

  • This is a wine-included cooking class. We apologize but due to our permit, no outside alcohol is allowed on La Poste’s property.

  • Please be aware of La Poste’s cancellation policy before signing up.

  • La Poste’s kitchen is located on the second floor of a historic building. Taking a small flight of stairs to the second story is required to access the kitchen. I apologize that this may not be ideal for everyone. Please let me know if you’re unable to attend for this reason and I will do my best to help you find a time to attend class at the Barn.
