Ikebana & Otsumami: The Art of Japanese Flowers & Flavors with Growing Studio

Immerse yourself in the elegance of Japanese culture through floral design and seasonal Japanese snacks.

Join Kristin - owner + chef at La Poste - and Christy Curcuru of Growing Studio for an intimate, hands-on experience where guests will experience :

– An Ikebana (Japanese flower arrangement) demonstration/class + guided floral arranging led by Christy. She will help guide and inspire you to create your own beautiful arrangement, which you will take home.

– All materials are included + yours to keep (flowers, vase + a kenzan aka pin frog)

– Mini Otsumami (small, seasonal snacks served with wine, beer or alcohol) class with Kristin, accompanied by wine + recipes

A little bit about Growing Studio:

Christy Curcuru and Megan Spencer are the creative team behind GROWING STUDIO, a Highlands-based floral and styling company known for its multidisciplinary approach. They specialize in weddings, events, workshops, window displays, and custom art. Megan is passionate about sustainable design and is the co-owner of Owl Gap Farm, where she grows many of the seasonal blooms used in the studio's designs. Since founding GROWING STUDIO in 2012, Christy has drawn on her rich background in visual arts—including floral and installation work, painting, interior styling, set design, and photography—to shape the studio’s distinctive aesthetic. Together, Christy and Megan bring a boundless creative spirit to every project.

  • This is a wine-included class. We apologize but due to our permit, no outside alcohol is allowed on La Poste’s property.

  • Please be aware of La Poste’s cancellation policy before signing up.

  • La Poste’s kitchen is located on the second floor of a historic building. Taking a small flight of stairs to the second story is required to access the kitchen. I apologize that this may not be ideal for everyone. Please let me know if you’re unable to attend for this reason and I will do my best to help you find a time to attend class at the Barn.

+ Cooking classes and creative workshops are always small, hands-on + laid-back. Cooking classes always focus on what’s local + in season, and culminate with a festive, shared meal.

+ Once purchased, your class or workshop tuition is non-refundable, but you may have someone attend in your place if you are unable to attend.

+ If the class or workshop must be canceled due to unforeseen circumstances on the part of la poste, you will have the choice of scheduling a new class or workshop or receiving a complete refund.

+ la poste is surrounded by grassy and gravel areas, steps, and changes in elevation. Please dress appropriately for your chosen event. comfortable footwear is always recommended and checking the forecast to help with clothing choice is essential.

+ I apologize, but La Poste is housed in a historic building and the kitchen can only be accessed by a small set of stairs to the second floor.

+ Not responsible for personal injury or accidents while on the la poste property.
