#1 French Chicken Party with Guest Chef Peyton Barrel

Join us today for a very festive day with guest chef Peyton Barrell. We are so excited that it is finally spring and we are dying to learn all about the art of French chicken and why their version of this classic dish just always tastes better!

To say that Peyton is a man chicken obsessed would be an understatement! He has spent most of the last few years perfecting his delicious version of classic French rotisserie chicken for his new restaurant in Asheville (opening this Fall!) called Gourmand! Today, Peyton will teach us all about the idea of Le Poulet Français, an exploration of this truly authentic take on the French bird, accompanied by traditional French picnicky sides and hors d’oeuvres.

We will spend some time around the cozy La Poste kitchen island - with nibbles, of course - followed by a leisurely seated lunch of what you’ve prepared together.

Abby will be on-hand to help us learn all about some super yummy, French wines that are perfect-for-spring and all of our outdoor meals, bbqs, and gatherings.

A little about our good buddy Peyton: Peyton Barrell is the Chef of soon to be Asheville Rotisserie, Gourmand. A career long francophile, Peyton has spent time under James Beard Award Winning Chefs, a Michelin Starred French Restaurant, and has spent the last five years operating various iterations of Gourmand. From fine dining, charcuterie, cheese mongering, and most recently rotisserie, Peyton has spent his career immersing himself in the deep rabbit hole of French Cuisine.

This is a wine-included cooking class. We apologize but due to our permit, no outside alcohol is allowed on La Poste’s property.

  • Please be aware of La Poste’s cancellation policy before signing up.

  • La Poste’s kitchen is located on the second floor of a historic building. Taking a small flight of stairs to the second story is required to access the kitchen. I apologize that this may not be ideal for everyone. Please let me know if you’re unable to attend for this reason and I will do my best to help you find a time to attend class at the Barn.
