sourdough baking | a baking class with laurin evans | november 8th

$195.00

Saturday, November 8, 2025

10 am - 2 pm

Today, join us in the La Poste kitchen where we will get our hands doughy and learn with Laurin about the magical process of sourdough bread baking!

Laurin will help demystify the process of sourdough baking and will teach us to make simply great bread. During the class you will learn the steps to sourdough baking from start to finish. You will learn how to make a sourdough starter, mix dough and learn the steps of bulk fermentation, and bake bread that day to enjoy in class!

We will have some nibbles while baking and sit down for a cozy lunch - where Kristin will teach us how to use some leftover bread to make a couple of delicious dishes!

We will also learn about and sip a selection of super yummy wines from the shop, of course.

A little bit about Laurin:

Laurin Evans is an experienced home baker with a real passion for sourdough bread. Like most of us, she watched the world become fascinated with the art of sourdough during Covid. She began baking bread for family and friends and became really good at baking one thing - artisan sourdough loaves.

  • I apologize, but for today’s class, we cannot accommodate for a gluten allergy.

  • This is a wine-included cooking class. We apologize but due to our permit, no outside alcohol is allowed on La Poste’s property.

  • Please be aware of La Poste’s cancellation policy before signing up.

  • La Poste’s kitchen is located on the second floor of a historic building. Taking a small flight of stairs to the second story is required to access the kitchen. I apologize that this may not be ideal for everyone. Please let me know if you’re unable to attend for this reason and I will do my best to help you find a time to attend class at the Barn.
