1 pm - 4 pm

Join us on the porch at La Poste for this casual Spring art class with our good friend - and new neighbor! - Jenny Mixon from the charming art + gift shop, Objet d’Art!

In today’s class, Jenny will teach us all about painting with naturally made pigments - that we create! She’ll share with us some fun historical info about how natural pigments from food and earth inspired the colors we see in famous paintings and tapestries. She’ll teach us how to recognize essential ingredients and how to grind the dried flowers, foodstuffs, spices, and earth elements using a mortar and pestle.

Jenny will guide each participant as you mix the colors and explore your creativity and paint with these beautiful natural pigments on watercolor paper.

All skill levels are welcome! Participants will go home with watercolor paper, watercolor dish, a couple of brushes, and a cute little container for your pigments.

One glass of wine and light nibbles are included while we paint!
